I heard that sound again. Got outta bed and knocked on the floor three times. Here I am, grown man, knocking on the floor.
But then I heard it. Three knocks, right under my feet. It wasn’t Iki, I checked, and he was asleep in his chair. I ain’t religious, but I prayed to anything that’d listen. I didn’t want to go back into my room. So I’m sleeping out here tonight in the big room.
