Dearest mother,

I trust you must be watching from heaven, for I can scarcely believe my good fortune. I have made… and I dare not utter the words: a friend! A companion out here, in this enclave out here in the woods!

Since you passed, and the druids carried me off to this place, I have kept to myself. To my studies of nature and this land and its spirits. But, mother, poor mother, you cannot believe how lonely it’s been for me out here alone.

But today, I met her! Her name’s Millicent—and we’re just thick as thieves! She’s as cute as a princess, and kind as can be. She must have seen how lonesome I was, for she smiled brightly at me straight away. Her big blue eyes, they lit up like stars in the night, as she showed her big teeth to me!

Oh my dearest new friend! You’re such a warm welcome sight! And soon we’ll be druids – keepers of this place, together!
