We’re going on a light journey, he says. Just enough clothes for the weekend, he says. I’m sure they have their own thralls to help with the carrying, he says.

Here I am, lugging six, SIX, carriages worth of ruffles and lace outfits up twenty flights of stairs for this weekend’s ball. The other thralls were all busy with other ridiculous tasks set upon them by the other Upyr here. I’ll be lucky if I’m done before tomorrow getting these all aired and into the wardrobe.

Is this my life now? I expected a bit more when I became an Upyr.
